For 7 years as a side gig, I was in the special effects industry.
To be more specific, I was a live production pyrotechnician & professional fireworks operator. I also designed, prototyped and operated a lot of my own atmospheric CO2 systems for local photographers, bands & other performers. But for many years before that, I was a BIG FAN of the BIG SHOWS!
Although I did get to work on some pretty high profile events across western Canada, it just wasn’t meant to be my path forever. After 7 years in the industry, I hung up my explosives tickets and put my career focus exclusively back into home renovations. Since then, I’ve always wanted to figure out a way to incorporate the two.
Then, with the help of a friend, the idea of Themed Spaces was born.
